από 15/9/25 έως 19/9/25
Learning Objectives
By completing this activity, you will be able to:
- Analyze complex cases of addiction.
- Identify multiple causes and consequences.
- Visualize your analysis creatively.
- Propose realistic solutions and support strategies.
- Participate in constructive dialogue.
- Understand the connection between personal, social, and psychological factors.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1—Study & Create
- Work in groups of 3.
- Go to the “Documents” section in e-class. You will find 8 case studies (e.g., “John’s Screen World,” “Elena’s Likes Bubble”).
- Read your assigned story carefully. Highlight key words.
- What are the roots of the problem?
- What are the main characteristics of the addiction?
- What are the immediate consequences?
- What solutions do you suggest?
- Use the template (attached in the Documents) as a guide to organize your ideas and create your “Tree of Causes & Solutions.” You can draw it:
- By hand (and take a clear photo).
- Using a diagram tool (Canva, Google Drawings, MindMeister, PowerPoint).
Tree structure:
Roots: Deeper causes (e.g., stress).
Trunk: The addiction itself (e.g., gaming).
Branches/Leaves: Immediate consequences (e.g., academic failure).
Fruits: Proposed solutions (e.g., psychological support).
5. Add a Title & a Slogan:
Give your tree a clear title (e.g., “John’s Tree”).
Add a short slogan or message that shows the main idea behind your tree (e.g., “Break the Chain” or a hashtag like #StopAddiction). You can write your slogan directly on your diagram or include it when you upload it.
Step 2—Upload to Forum
- Go to the “Forum” section and find the topic “The Tree of Causes & Solutions.”
- Create a new post:
- Add a title (e.g., “Elena’s Tree”).
- Upload your diagram as an image or PDF.
- Add 2–3 sentences explaining your main takeaway or a question you still have.
- Include your slogan if you didn’t write it on your tree.
Step 3—Complete & Discuss
1. Check your classmates’ trees.
2. Reply to at least 2 posts. You can:
- Explain what you understand from their tree.
- Agree or suggest a new “root” (cause) or new “fruit” (solution).
- Compare it with your tree.
- Ask a question to help them expand their ideas.
IMPORTANT! Be polite, constructive, and supportive. The goal is to learn from each other.
