WELCOME MESSAGE

Dear students,

I hardly know where to begin while writing to you. All your teachers are at a loss as to what to say to you.  This is a very confusing and unprecedented time for everybody. The future is uncertain, but right now we all have to make the most out of this unfortunate situation. If two decades of teaching has taught me anything, it’s that people of your age are innovative and creative. I’ve witnessed that in class with you so many times! There is no pandemic strong enough to silence the passion of your generation. This year may not be what you envisioned, but I’m eager to see what you do with it.

We ‘ll all utilize tech ways to bring ourselves closer together. We’ll practice physical distancing, but we’ll stay as social as ever. Learning never stops because learning is not restricted to a place or a deadline. It is a practice, a habit, a part of your daily routine. I’m sure you’ve found ingenious ways to compensate for any gaps you may have and we’re here to share this wonderful journey of knowledge with you. We’ll help you but you can also help us learn something new, as you always do in class.

I would also like to offer some advice. Take good care of yourself. Stay safe and healthy. Don’t lose heart. The same dreams you’ve dreamed until now will still be relevant and achievable for you after this whole nightmare is over. Support your friends and your family. They need you. We need you. Now it is urgent more than ever for you to show all the wonderful qualities that you possess; kindness, compassion, courage, responsibility, generosity, humour, respect, patience, sharing. We’re experiencing an adventure and just like all real adventures we need to be brave. Whatever happens, we will weather this storm together.

 Within the following week we’ll be in touch with some fun English material.
