Creative writing: Imagine that you are a small wooden pirate on your desk in your room. This book is the story of your life. Before you start writing you have to decide on the following:
- Where and when does your story start?
- How are you going to start (introduction) in order to make your readers interested in your story?
- What tenses are you going to use?
- What is going to be the message of your story?
Exercise 1
Read the song lyrics on page 38 and answer the following questions:
1. Do you think that the song reflects Van Gogh's attitude and feelings? If so mention specific verses.
2. How does this song make you feel?
3. Write up to 5 sentences giving facts about Van Gogh's life, based on the song.

Based on the work you've done in class and Van Gogh's biography, observe the following paintings and create an imaginary dialogue between Van Gogh and Dr Gachet.
Exercise 7
Based on the work you did during this unit write an article for your school ebook, presenting Van Gogh's life and work from your own point of view. The article will be entitled "My Vincent Van Gogh". The best articles will be published in your ebook. (Deadline Wednesday 2 December)

Writing a blog post
Bins for recycling clothing
Write a blog post for your school blog where you suggest that we should have bins for recycling clothes in the nearby area. You have researched and asked people and have found that there aren't any bins for recycling clothes.
Use 120-150 words.
You can mention the following:
-where
-colour
-size
-who will pay for them
-who will make them (city council/ school council funds)
