Option 1
Your school is preparing a blog to celebrate the “Safe Internet Day”. Write a blog entry (120-150 words) explaining the extremely negative effects of cyberbullying and suggesting ways of dealing with this serious problem.
EXAMPLE
Stop Cyberbullying – Safe Internet Day
Cyberbullying is a big problem on the internet. It means saying bad things to someone online, sharing private photos or making fun of others on social media. This can make people feel very sad, scared, or alone. Some people stop going to school or talking to friends because of it.
Cyberbullying can happen anytime and anywhere because people use phones and computers all the time. It is important to stop it.
If you see cyberbullying, tell a teacher, parent, or another adult you trust. You can also block the person and report the messages on the app or website. Always be kind online and help others who are in trouble.
On Safe Internet Day, let’s promise to use the internet in a good way and help stop cyberbullying. Everyone deserves to feel safe online.

worried about her online behavior so you have decided to give her some advice. Write an e-mail (120 -

Be polite when you post or comment. Hurtful messages can make others feel bad. If someone sends you something mean or strange, don’t reply—block them and tell an adult.
Use strong passwords and don’t share them with anyone. It’s also a good idea to check your privacy settings.

Your 14-year-old friend Michael, who lives in the UK, wants to open his own Facebook account but his
parents are totally against such an action. He is angry with them and has written to you to complain. Write
an email to him (120-150 words) to explain why his parents may be right. You may use some of the
ideas below and/or your own ideas.

Hi Michael,
Thanks for your message. I understand you're upset, but I think your parents may have a good reason to say no for now.
Facebook can be fun, but it’s also full of risks—especially for someone our age. There are many strangers online, and not all of them are friendly. Some people create fake accounts and try to get personal information from others.
Also, people sometimes post mean or hurtful comments. This can make you feel bad or worried. Facebook can also be very time-consuming, and it might distract you from school or sleep.
Your parents just want to protect you. Maybe you can talk to them and suggest a safer app or agree to use Facebook together with their help. That way, they can see you’re being responsible.
